Improvement plans are required for any project requiring or proposing construction of a public facility including street, drainage, sewer and water improvements.
All improvement plans must be prepared by a registered professional engineer in accordance with city Engineering Standards and the Carlsbad Municipal Code.
Improvement plan submittals are made at the engineering counter. Work done pursuant to an approved improvement plan must be secured by a subdivision or development improvement agreement to guarantee performance of the work in compliance with the improvement plans and payment of the contractor, subcontractors and any persons furnishing labor, materials and equipment. Security to warranty construction of the improvements for one year after completion is also required.
