The City of Carlsbad Council adopted Sustainability Principles in 2008. These Guiding Principles focus on balancing environmental, economic and community needs, towards achieving  a sustainable future for the City of Carlsbad.  The city works to provide high-quality service while partnering with the community and responsibly managing social, economic and environmental resources.
